Plug-In Notes

For my blog this week I chose to do Plug In Notes. I used this strategy for my Human Sex CFS 388 class, and for my Oceanography EAR 177 class. I chose this strategy because its easy and keeps me organized. During class I can take notes, then after I can come up with five or 6 questions that I think will be seen on the next test. Then when my tests come around I already have a study guide with somewhere around 50 questions, which I'm sure at least half of the one's I asked will be on the test.

I didn't really make any adaptions because I thought that it was really clear cut for me the way it was in the book. It's worked so I just stuck with it. But if anyone out there has any suggestions on any ways I can improve my note taking skills I would love to hear!

For LAME, I'm more of a visual learner so its more effective for me to look at a chart, and see the specific questions and the answers as well. I took this into action by paying close attention to what kind of notes I wanted to take then eventually I got to a point where I felt comfortable taking the notes a certain way. I also used this strategy because I know the professors will be evaluating me on how well I do on the tests obviously, so I knew this strategy would help because it could make some test questions as well as good notes.

I thought that this technique was really effective. I know that I've said this about most but every one I've used so far has helped me in one way or another. I feel like it gets me prepared for class and It also helps me pay attention because I know if I take notes, I will have some answers to tests questions at the end!

Thats it for the blog this week! See you soon.

  1. Pat Powderly Comment: I agree, this is a good way to spread out your notes on one big page. I like how you discussed L.A.M.E. in your blog and related it to what kind of learner you are. This is a lot like the 20 minute test prep and is really effective.
