Ranking Priorities! Matt Harris

For my second blog I chose the ranking priorities. This strategy has been proven to be effective for me, so that's why I chose to blog about it. For the particular blog I used the strategy for my EAR 117 class, my CFS 388, my PSY 322 and this class, CLS! I chose this strategy for many reasons. I have a hard time with my priorities so thats what initially drove me to use this strategy. I also like the fact that I can make a list and when I'm done with a task I can check it off as something I've finished. It makes me feel like I'm accomplishing things I need to do when I can make a list and check of my priorities. I also like the fact that I can visually see what I need to do and how important they are. Usually I do these lists in weeks, so it helps me visualize what I need to do that week. I also like the fact that I can add onto the list, its never a set thing, which with lacrosse and academics, helps me stay organized. The only adaptations I had to make was sometimes I didn't really use the A,B,C concept. But that was only when I was adding things, and was on the move so to say. This strategy is really effective for me, I've been using this for a while, probably since around my junior year of high school. It keeps me organized, and I can visually see what I need to do each week. That's it for blog number 2!

  1. Pat Powderly Comment: I think it's smart to write down other things on your priorities besides just your schoolwork. Its a good idea to highlight your priorities sheet because it shows you how important the task is that you have to do. I think this is a good strategy to keep all your important tasks fresh in your mind.

  2. Me and matt had a similar lay out for our priorities and it seems to work for both of us. We both had our most important at the top and less at the bottom. Matts is visually appealing and not too long. I also like how he talks about it almost being like a check list and as the week goes on you can check things off and move on to important but less necessary things. This strategy is very affective for both of us because we are busy with sports as well as academics and some things are more important than others

  3. He said he has an problem with his priorities sometimes and i can relate to that because sometimes you can get lazy and not want to do it, but if you have use the strategy then you can keep your priorities in check.
